WILTSHIRE Council leader Jane Scott is launching a networking event in Amesbury today (Thursday).
Cllr Scott has been invited by Stonehenge Chamber of Trade to open the Business-2-Business event, which is in its eighth year.
She will discuss Amesbury BID, economic development in the town and Wiltshire Council’s commitment to Amesbury – and its and visitors.
“I am very pleased to be officially opening this year’s event,” she said.
“Events like this really give businesses an opportunity to make new contacts and establish how they might work better together.
“It is important we do everything we can to help businesses grow in the county and provide all the support they need to succeed.”
The day, at Antrobus House, will give businesses from Amesbury, and across the city, the chance to meet service providers and networking groups.
There will also be refreshments served throughout the afternoon.
Chairman of the Stonehenge Chamber of Trade James Johnston said: “It is absolutely fantastic that Jane Scott has agreed to open our event this year and is sending the right message from Wiltshire Council to the Amesbury business community, who work hard to make Amesbury a buoyant and lively town. “The Chamber is looking forward to welcoming Cllr Scott to Amesbury and to introducing her to the businesses that showcase at the event.”
