AN OPEN evening is being held at Dean Hill Park on April 20 to show the public how the site has been developed by new owners Harving.

The company took over the former Ministry of Defence munitions depot in West Dean a year ago and the event will be the fourth open evening held.

Harving chairman Richard Parry will give a talk and Stephen Rhodes, the former officer in charge of the site, will give a guided tour of the buildings.

There will also be opportunities to see the conservation areas of the site.

Mr Parry said: "It is just a year since we took over this site and we know that a lot of people are interested to see inside the fence.

"These buildings were superbly built by the Admiralty during World War II and the wonderful environment, which was created by the military management regime, will be available for everyone to look at.

Harving specialises in creating workspace in rural areas and has already attracted several tenants to Dean Hill Park, from sound engineers to sculptors.

There is also a programme to improve the habitat for wildlife and flora.

Dean Hill Park will be open from 6pm to 8pm.
