A FOOTBALL club's kit man is set to reap the benefits of top-notch transport boxes after a donation from one Salisbury business.

Micky Western will be able to use the metal storage containers for when Salisbury FC are on their travels.

GWP Protective - a designer and manufacturer of specialist protective packaging products that is based in Cricklade and Salisbury, has teamed up with the Whites following the club's success last season.

General manager Richard Coombes said: “We were absolutely delighted when our local team, and neighbours, Salisbury FC won promotion during their very first season back in the league.

"We wanted to do whatever we could to help manager Steve Claridge take the team to promotion again next season and we hope that our donation of these kit boxes will be of benefit."

Claridge said: "The new kit storage boxes are great and I know they will really help with transporting all our kit around. We're very grateful to GWP for donating them to us."
