SALISBURY’S new escape room company is backing the Wiltshire Air Ambulance's (WAAT) appeal to build a new airbase.

Live Escape Salisbury in Castle Street will be helping to raise money for the airbase, which is being built in Semington near Melksham.

The airbase project will cost £5.1m and £2.5m has already been donated for the Airbase Appeal. The purpose-built airbase will have the latest technology and facilities for the charity's lifesaving crew, aircraft and charity team.

Claire Pitcher, of Live Escape Salisbury, said: “We’ve been trying to think of a way to support the Wiltshire Air Ambulance ever since we opened at the beginning of June. We have just been granted permission to open seven days a week by Wiltshire Council so now we can maximize the donation we can give to the WAA.

“For every booking made for any day throughout December we are going to donate 15 per cent to the WAA Airbase Appeal.”

Live Escape Salisbury launched in May and the game challenges teams to solve puzzles and escape the room in 60 minutes.

Charlotte Mortimer, the fundraising coordinator for South Wiltshire, said: "We are always incredibly grateful when any company or organisation provide us with financial support as we receive no government funding for the work we do.

"Escape games are so much fun, we hope families, friends and colleagues will all get together to play and help raise money for the airbase appeal at the same time.”
