FISHERTON Mill has been recognised for its imaginative and well-priced mains to win another national food award.

The mill, in Fisherton Street, has been awarded the accolade of Best Cheap Eats in the West in the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2017.

Named as one of the three winners in the category, judges said Fisherton Mill was: “An 1880 grain mill with a gallery and a café which spills out into the courtyard on fine days. Imaginative, well-priced menus.”

Manager Deborah Fox, who runs the mill with her husband and chef Michael, said she is overwhelmed that the delightful environment, great food and service have been recognised once again.

She said: “Everyone at Fisherton Mill Gallery Café is delighted and honoured that we have received yet another prestigious award from the Observer Food Monthly magazine. We’re genuinely humbled to accept this award and offer sincere thanks to our star chef and his dedicated, hard-working staff.

“Most importantly, we’d like to express our gratitude to all of our customers, especially those whose votes helped the Gallery Café win this award. Only with their support are we able to compete against other outlets in much bigger cities and with far more customers.”

The team are now looking forward to welcoming new and old visitors to the mill up to Christmas and into 2018.

Deborah added: “Whether you fancy just a snack, a home-made sandwich or a main meal, our varied menus have something for everyone.”
