A NEW barbershop has opened its doors in Wilton to fill a gap in the market.
Friends Andy Drake and Steve Scoble have joined forces to open West Street Barbers offering haircuts to young and old.
The pair, who both have more than five years experience each, decided to set up their own shop after years of working for others.
Mr Drake, 33, said: “There was only one unisex barbers in Wilton and we thought there was room for another barbershop in the town as other places we have visited had five or six.”
The friends, each with more than five years experience, came across the empty unit, in West Street, in January and after eight weeks hard work and significant investment the barbers was opened on February 24.
“It was just an empty unit, it had been empty for nine months and one day we just came to look around, and we sat down with the landlord and he said we could have it,” said Mr Drake.
Mayor of Wilton Cllr Peter Edge officially opened the barbershop last week.
“The support we have received from local people since we opened has blown me away, we have had so many people through the door already - it has been fantastic.”
