MP John Glen joined Churchill Retirement Living to officially open its Sarum Lodge development in Salisbury.
He did the honours of cutting the ribbon at the development in Endless Street with Churchill’s regional managing director James Barnes.
Mr Glen said: “I was pleased to be asked to open the new Sarum Lodge development in my constituency, and it was an honour to cut the ribbon. Retirement properties are a crucial part of meeting the UK’s housing challenge and Churchill’s new development is a significant addition to the housing provision here in Salisbury town centre.
“Specialist retirement housing is proven to have a beneficial effect on older people’s health and wellbeing, be it from being in a modern, warm, well insulated home to having a sense of community which helps to beat loneliness.”
