Salisbury shoppers will be rewarded for supporting the city's independent shops this month.

July is Independents' Month, a national campaign that coincides with Independents' Day on Sunday (July 4) to promote the UK's local businesses.

Salisbury has more than 200 indies and Experience Salisbury and Salisbury Business Improvement District (BID) will help celebrate their resilience during what has been a turbulent 15 months.

This month, shoppers will be able to get their hands on a free Salisbury shopping bag from independent businesses across the city centre.

The cotton tote shopping bags have been funded by Salisbury BID and are designed with the new Salisbury branding.

Shoppers will receive one, for free, when they spend over £20 in participating independent businesses:

"We also say thank you to shoppers for their continued support and, as we move towards the end of Coronavirus restrictions, we look forward to a positive summer for everyone.”

Susi Mason, owner of Casa Fina and Salisbury BID Director, added: “We’ve been through difficult times over the last 15 months but July is a time to celebrate.

"Salisbury has a wealth of independent businesses that make the city centre unique and we want to thank everyone who has supported us.

"Salisbury is a special place and by shopping local you are helping to preserve the unique offer of our city centre for the future.”

Experience Salisbury is a new website funded jointly by Salisbury BID, Salisbury City Council, Salisbury Cathedral, Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and Wiltshire Creative.
