Fuel shortages are easing in Salisbury, with a high availability of fuel.
After days of shortages, most petrol stations in and around Salisbury are fine for petrol and diesel today (Tuesday, October 12).
This afternoon, both petrol and diesel are available at:
- BP, Downton Road
- BP, London Road
- Shell at Waitrose, Churchill Way West
- Shell, Wilton Road (running low on diesel)
- BP, Wilton Road
- Esso New Sarum, Southampton Road
- Esso Riverside, Warminster Road
- Murco Stonehenge Filling Station, High Street, Winterbourne Stoke
On Friday (October 8), Transport Secretary Grant Shapps told Sky News that the country is at the “tail end” of fuel shortages.
He said that even in London and the South East, the areas most badly hit, supplies are coming through and the Army is plugging the gaps.
He added that compared with the “low point” around eight to 10 days ago, there is now “twice as much petrol” in forecourts.
He said: “I think we’re right at the tail end of this now.”
