Fisherton Mill Gallery and Café are fundraising to install a life-saving device in their courtyard.

The defibrillator will be for the use of customers, staff, studio tenants and visitors to the venue.

Organisers say the defibrillator, cabinet and installation will cost £2,500, of which the independent, on Fisherton Street, will provide £500.

The defibrillator will be bought from the British Heart Foundation.

Customers and supporters are being asked to help raise the rest of the costs.

Donations over £50 will be rewarded with a free coffee and cake for two in the Gallery Café.

The Crowdfunder page says: "Fisherton Mill is a hive of activity and welcomes a significant number of customers through its doors and would very much like to provide a life saving defibrillator to help protect all visitors to the Mill and our staff and tenants.

"We intend to purchase the defibrillator through the British Heart Foundation thus supporting this important organisation.

"We very much hope that our customers and supporters will be able to help us raise the balance in order for us to purchase this very important piece of equipment."
