SALISBURY Hospice Charity says it is in “awe” after businesses helped raise £41,392.

Last January it launched its 40-4-40 club initiative which saw 33 businesses sign up to jointly raise £40,000 in support of the hospice’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

Club members also donated prizes for the charity’s first online Christmas raffle which raised an additional £1,170.

Louise Compton, corporate fundraiser for the charity said: “We are in awe of our 40-4-40 club members, who rallied together in support of the hospice, this was a huge collective effort and we are so grateful to each business, not just for the funds raised but for the time and effort put into their fundraising. It was wonderful to see these businesses come together to support a service that is so vital to individuals within their community.”
