Bin collectors were striking at Hills Municipal's Salisbury depot yesterday.

Strikes have been taking place at depots all over Wiltshire, preventing Hills vehicles from entering the sites.

This has impacted collection services, meaning recycling collections have been suspended for two weeks in the county.

Yesterday morning (Wednesday, March 9), binmen were preventing trucks leaving the Salisbury depot for about three hours, starting at 7am.

At around 10am, pickets led out the trucks, walking in front of them down to the main road with banners.

The industrial dispute, between Hills Municipal Collections and the GMB union, is over pay.

"Put some decent pay in these guys' pockets - they deserve better," says one striker, in the video below:
