A NEW bakery chain that prides itself on using the finest quality ingredients is opening in the city centre.

A sign in the shop window on Catherine Street states “Welcome to Cake Box Salisbury.”

Cake Box was formed in 2008 by Sukh Chamdal and now has more than 195 branches. The plan was to open 2-3 new bakeries a month throughout 2022. It is the first time that the bakery chain will have been in Salisbury.

The website states: “Our success is because we have held on to our family values. We have extended the family circle to include our customers. To us, the customer is not somebody who simply buys a cake from one of our stores.

“When we make a cake for somebody’s special occasion, we know that we are being allowed into the person’s family via the cake. That is why each cake is baked and decorated as if it was meant for a member of one of our families.”

Many of the founder’s family members follow a strict Lacto-vegetarian diet which is how the concept for the business was formed as all products are 100 per cent egg free.

The vision was to restore Britain’s long-standing traditional cake bakeries, but as the company website states, “with a modern twist.”

Cake Box Salisbury is expected to open in December, but the opening date has not yet been confirmed.
