A VINTAGE-inspired homewares company is taking over a prominent spot in the city centre. 

Selling an eclectic mix of products for the home and garden, Biggie Best moves into the space left vacant by Paperchase when the company was purchased by Tesco.

Biggie Best was founded by Pru Pfuhl in Capetown, South Africa in 1987, and progressed to become the largest independent retailer in South Africa. 

The company's head office is now in the UK and has become a major supplier of soft furnishings and decorative accessories, which are described as 'innovative' on its website.

Although there is no official date for opening, there is a poster in the shop window asking for part-time and full-time fun, motivated and energetic staff members. 

Middleton and Major, the estate agents who acted on behalf of the landlords confirmed they had negotiated a new lease with a national retailer. 

A spokesperson for Middleton and Major said: “We hope the new occupier will add further vibrancy to the existing retail offer in New Canal.”
