DEICHMANN has delayed the opening of its new store in the Old George Mall.
The German shoe shop chain previously told the Journal it was planning to open at the end of March.
However, this date has been pushed back and Deichmann now plans to open in late May.
A spokesperson for the company said: "We're expecting to be on site from mid-April."
The unit, at 31-33 Old George Mall, has been vacant since Topshop closed in 2020.
Deichmann first submitted its plans (ref PL/2022/02309) for the building one year ago, in March 2022.

The documents say the company is to "undertake a fit out" of the premises, and that the store should offer six full-time and four part-time positions.
Works to the site will include replacing the existing doors with new ‘frameless’ glass doors, with a powder coat finish for the new aluminium frames in grey matte, for "visual amenity".
The new signage will be the company's name in green illuminated LED letters.
Originating in Germany, Deichmann has been running since 1913, employing around 42,000 people in 31 countries.
It is said to be Europe's largest shoe retailer.
