Following reports of the freehold of John Halle Hall, the home of Odeon, being for sale, the chain has confirmed that the operation of the cinema will not be affected.

John Halle Hall was built by its namesake, John Halle, a successful wool merchant and once mayor of Salisbury, in the 1470s.

Salisbury’s Odeon has been housed in the mediaeval building for over 90 years, and its lease continues until 2089.

The freehold of John Halle Hall is to be sold in an upcoming auction by Acuitus on Thursday, Jul,y 13, with a guide price of £850,000+ and a stated annual rental income of £64,422.
