A BUSINESS owner said he is struggling to pay his bills and take care of his family after his coffee shop was burgled twice in less than one month.

Burglars broke into Mr Beans Coffee, in Churchill Gardens, overnight between Wednesday, September 13, and Thursday, September 14.

This comes just over three weeks after it was the target of another burglary during which £500 was stolen and the mobile shop was trashed.

Thieves took "basically everything except for the coffee machine" including a professional coffee grinder, blender, microwave and chargers worth a total of £2,000.

Owner Nikolay Velkov found the lock of his kiosk broken in a similar fashion to the previous break-in and immediately knew what had happened.

"I didn't expect them to come back so soon. The last time was three to four weeks ago and there has been no action," he said.

No CCTV cameras cover the area next to the toilet block adjacent to Southampton Road despite Salisbury City Council telling Mr Velkov one would be installed.

The financial setback has affected Mr Velkov's ability to pay his bills and provide for his family.

He said: "I can't survive like this. I'm losing money, I can't pay my bills, I have a family and I can't take care of them.

"It's crazy and I can't believe it is happening."

Although Mr Velkov is certain the area is "not secure", he has tried to improve the kiosk's security and will try "one more time" before he is forced to close.

Wiltshire Police has been contacted for more information.
