A BARBER shop owned by a Salisbury couple has celebrated success after their business won a regional award.

B-Cuts Barbers, in Cross Keys Shopping Centre, was crowned 'best barber in Wiltshire' at England's Business Awards in Bristol on Sunday, September 24.

The business is run by 22-year-old couple Besmir and Sara-Jade Peposhi who opened it in December 2021 amid Covid restrictions.

Since then, the walk-in barbershop has grown to house three full-time barbers with another joining the team later this month (October).

B-Cuts was up against three other barbershops from across the county but ultimately came out on top.

Director Besmir, who has been cutting hair for six years, said his business took off very quickly because the service he offers sets him aside from the competition.

He added: "We try to have the best customer service and do the top haircuts in town."

The shop can get so busy on weekends that customers come in and wait up to two hours for a haircut. Besmir said Cross Keys sees a footfall of 4,000 people passing by daily in the week and up to 6,000 at weekends.

Despite his haircuts costing the most of any barbershop in Salisbury, at £19 for a skin fade, Besmir said his customers are happy to pay more for a quality service.

"You can charge the customer more if what you're offering them is good.

“The most important thing is listening to the customer to understand what they want.

“We take our time with clients. I have to make sure they are smiling when they leave," he added.

Wife Sara-Jade runs the admin side of the business and said the pair had been together for five years and married for two.

She added: "We're in the perfect location right in the middle of town. Besmir is such a great barber and we're grateful for whoever nominated us for the award but to go on and win Wiltshire's Best Barber is phenomenal."

B-Cuts will go head-to-head against barbers from across the country to win the national award at Birmingham in November.

Besmir hopes to grow his business and open a new shop in Bath once he's figured out if the market would give way for a new barbershop.

He also plans to expand his presence online through social media and an online shop selling hair products.
