A NEW scheme providing exclusive discounts by local businesses has been set up to thank NHS  staff for their hard work and commitment in the face of rising living costs and unprecedented challenges.

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust developed the new scheme in collaboration with the Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce and Salisbury Business Improvement District.

The scheme launches today (Thursday, November 23) and boasts a range of offers and discounts to help hospital staff save money on entertainment, food and drink, home insurance, hairdressing, and more.

Melanie Whitfield, Chief People Officer for Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our people have told us they value the financial and practical support we can give them and their families. Listening to the feedback, we have created a scheme which supports both hospital staff and Salisbury businesses and I’m delighted that we can work together.

"Alleviating some of the financial pressures for our staff whilst encouraging them to shop locally will be mutually beneficial for the whole community. We are grateful to the local businesses who demonstrated their commitment to supporting our staff.”

Managing director of Premier Fish, Tony White, supports the scheme.

He said: “We are excited about this whole opportunity - to be able to give something back to such inspiring people is an incredible feeling.”
