A LUXURY spa in Salisbury has closed 'until further notice'.

After much confusion on social media, Lime Tree Spa, at Milford Hall on Castle Street, has told the Journal  it has closed "until further notice," as renovation efforts have advanced to a "crucial stage."

Customers took to social media after hearing the news, feeling that they were left in the dark and concerned as to whether they would be able to use previously purchased vouchers.

Disgruntled customers expressed their dissatisfaction online after an email was sent detailing the spa would no longer be open for business.

On the public Facebook group, Salisbury UK Notice Board, one customer said: "Not happy as [I] bought a £120 spa day voucher at Christmas, and nothing was said."

However, the Journal has uncovered what is actually going on, with the spa confirming it is 'in the process' of refunding customers.

Christian Struckl, general manager of Milford Hall Hotel and Spa said: "As you are aware the hotel has embarked on a comprehensive multi-million-pound renovation which will reimagine every aspect of the property, from luxurious guest rooms to creating inviting and lavish public spaces, including a new bar, restaurant and events facilities as well as other areas, open to be enjoyed by hotel guests and the local community.

"The goal is to effortlessly merge contemporary design with the hotel's historic elegance, ensuring Milford Hall remains a beacon of sophistication in Salisbury.

"The hotel has now advanced to a crucial stage in its renovation efforts, leading to the temporary closure of certain areas. Consequently, it was with great regret that we decided to suspend operations at the Lime Tree Spa effective 24th January 2024, until further notice.

"We are actively informing customers and guests about this closure and are in the process of refunding any bookings and deposits.

"As we approach the completion of the hotel's renovation, we will conduct a review of all operations.

"Our aim is to relaunch and reposition the hotel and its amenities and looking forward to the opportunity to unveil this newly polished gem in Salisbury."
