A NEW clothes shop with a Turkish twist has opened in the Maltings.

Istanbul Boutique, at Unit 2/3, opened for the first time on Thursday morning, April 4.

Owner Serap Al, 44, signed a five-year lease on the building and hopes to expand her business online depending on her success.

The clothing shop has replaced Cake Forge and sells a selection of dresses, socks, bathrobes, underwear and lingerie.

Husband and wife Dan and Kate Mills made the "heartbreaking" decision to close the cake shop on September 30, 2023.

Nearby, at Unit 6, Mrs Al's husband runs Stonehenge Tailoring. While her brand has existed here for five years, she wanted to open an independent shop "to help pay the bills".

Simon Lee, at Myddelton and Major, said: "We are pleased to have negotiated this new letting for a retail use, specialising in the sale of socks, dresses, suits, bathrobes and underwear, which will add to the vibrancy of the Maltings, as a busy shopping area of the City Centre."
