KEEN customers queued outside a boba shop to claim a free drink to mark 'bubble tea day'.

CUPP gathered a queue which stretched down Silver Street on Tuesday, May 1, as 100 free bubble teas were dished out.

The first 50 customers through the doors were given a merchandise bundle which included a poster, a limited edition pin and a holographic sticker.

Customers could play games in-store to win prizes such as a year-long supply of bubble tea and a late art lesson at Wogan Coffee's roastery in Bristol.

Most of CUPP's loyal regulars were among the first in the queue but unknowing passers-by saw the commotion and wanted to get involved too.

Owner Roberta Herridge, 37, was happy with the turnout, which amounted to roughly 400 customers, and said the day was "very successful".

"The staff enjoyed it. There was music, lots of people in the shop and it had quite a good celebratory atmosphere," she added.

Miss Herridge excitedly announced that Little Moon mochi is now on sale and part of the newly-launched meal deal.
