A long-awaited Post Office has opened on a new build estate after Wi-Fi issues arose.

The new facility opened at SPAR Late Shop, at 4 Rhodes Moorhouse Way in Longhedge, on Tuesday, May 28.

This Post Office was originally due to open on April 26 but it had problems with the Wi-Fi infrastructure not being BT based.

A solution to make the connection compatible has now been achieved and the Post Office serve customers seven days a week.

For the first few days, the opening hours will be 9am – 5pm but this will soon extend to 7am - 10pm every day.

The new branch offers a wide range of services services, from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items.

Staff can also process cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks.

Network provision lead Antoinette Chitty said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best.

"We know how important our services are to customers, and are confident that this brand new Post Office will ensure that people in Longhedge have easy access to our services.”
