A shoe shop has made its return to the city centre after closing four years ago.

At 9am on Saturday, September 28, footwear brand Hotter officially opened in Salisbury.

Formerly in Old George Mall, Hotter is now relocated on High Street, freshly renovated with a teal exterior, modern interior and wide double doors on what once was TSB.

A ribbon was cut by mayor Sven Hocking, joined by staff, regional manager James Emanuel and retail director Andy Tubb. Within moments, customers flooded in, eager to see the brand returning to the city.

Mayor Hocking said: “It’s fantastic to see Hotter in Salisbury in a great location on the High Street. It just goes to show Salisbury is most definitely on the way up, the footfall is up and it’s just nice to see another brand on the High Street taking an empty unit.

“I’m delighted to open the shop.”

The business has been running since 1959, and take pride in the fact that products are made in a UK factory.

James Emanuel said: “We are so pleased to come back to Salisbury where we have a lot of our loyal customers and indeed, they’re excited to see us back in town.

“Even when we were fitting the shop, we had lots of enquiries, people knocking on the window waiting to see when we’re opening.”

The new Salisbury stores comes as the first of many locations reopening over the upcoming months and years.

Andy Tubb said: “We’re pleased to be back in Salisbury, a location we traded in previously but unfortunately had to exit in 2020. This is the first location we have reopened; we’re opening four more by the end of the year.

“We’re really pleased with the shop, it’s the blueprint for future openings – it’s very modern and it’s sympathetic to the city.”

The shop left the city during the pandemic due to a company voluntary arrangement (CVA). Some stores in the UK remained open, but many had to close.

“The business took the decision to exit at that point to ensure survival”, Andy added.

The shop is offering shoe fittings for a range of styles and sizes, including half sizes. It is open from 9am to 5.30pm Monday – Saturday and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
