FOR just under one million pounds, you could be the owner of a spacious freehold Georgian property right in the heart of Salisbury.

A five-bedroom property on Endless Street, close to Salisbury’s Market Square and set over four floors, went on the market for £925,000 last week.

With its red-brick facade, the grade II listed terraced property is at least 200-years-old and reminiscent of 18th century novelist Jane Austen’s house in Hampshire.

Taking the Journal on a whirlwind tour of the build, the first room off the main entrance is a dining room that looks like it has come straight out of a period drama with huge sash windows, with a sophisticated aura.

Next on the ground floor is a cheerful, bright, and spacious kitchen with lots of space to rush around in, and plenty of storage to hide away clutter.

The kitchen continues into an airy breakfast room with French doors that open out on to the courtyard garden, perfect for summer days.

Though relatively compact, the garden has space for a large family table, and its high walls allow plenty of sunlight while creating a private and secure space to relax.

Salisbury Journal:

The pièce de résistance is the lavish 6.8 by 5.4m drawing room on the first floor, with period features such as exposed ceiling beams and a fireplace evoking a sense of warmth and history.

The fifth bedroom, currently a study, is also situated on this floor and has great natural light from east-facing windows, making it a sunny guest bedroom or work-from-home set up.

Taking up the majority of the second floor is a huge master bedroom, cleverly exposed wall and ceiling beams romantically framing the queen-sized bed.

With subtle built-in storage and a stylish ensuite, the master bedroom is also practical, a guest bathroom, or family bedroom, situated on the same floor.

On the top floor there are the final two bedrooms, both roughly equal in size and perfect for children with their playful, slanting ceilings.

One is particularly charming, its high vaulted ceiling creating a fairy-tale hideaway that inspires the imagination.

The previous owner rented out the house, most recently to a young family, and it is ready to be moved into immediately without the hassle of waiting for the occupant to move out.

It is situated very close to Salisbury’s Market Square on Endless Street which is in walking distance to many of Salisbury’s great shops and eateries and lined with a mix of many Georgian style houses.

Salisbury's train station is also a short walk away and has a direct line to London Waterloo, making it a popular option for city workers who wouldn’t mind an 80-to-90-minute commute.

The Hamptons estate agent managing the property, Chris Husson-Martin, told the Journal: “Endless street has seen a bit of a resurgence.

“We’ve sold three-million-pound houses there in the last year. It’s definitely, definitely, one of the better streets in the city now.

“One of the best things about it is you’re slap bang in the middle of the city and have all the amenities of the city right on your doorstep.”

They have had plenty of viewings already, so it might not be on the market for long.
