WORK to transform a 170-year-old Grade II listed building in Salisbury into four apartments has been completed.

Avon Villa, off Wilton Road, is based within the Chapters over-55s independent-living village operated by Platinum Skies.

The two-storey white-painted brick building with a central tower and spire with a slate roof, which dates back to around 1850, was previously known as Avon Villa when it was purchased as part of the wider Old Manor Hospital site.

Salisbury Journal:

Four bespoke apartments have been built, including a duplex.

The apartments are linked by a tiled entrance hall and ornate wooden staircase, which follows the Victorian interior style of the four new homes.

Avon Villa is surrounded by a number of new-build lodges and historic cottages, which have been refurbished and converted as part of the Old Manor Hospital regeneration scheme.

Oliver Hunter, CEO of construction at Platinum Skies, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to complete Avon Villa which is a real cause for celebration as it is a truly stunning property, which is much loved by the people of Salisbury.

“Our construction team has homed in on every detail of the apartments to ensure we kept the original Victorian design details while making sure that the properties work for the homeowner’s everyday needs, as well as being somewhere that they can live happily for many years to come.”
