THREE symphonies, composed and then premiered in Salisbury will be heard again in the city for the first time in 200 years in a special concert performed by Salisbury Baroque in the Guildhall on Sunday, July 8, 4pm.
The composer, John Marsh, lived in Salisbury from 1776 to 1783.
Local researcher and member of Salisbury Baroque, Nigel Wyatt said: “Marsh kept a journal in which he described his public and private music making while here in Salisbury. So this enables us to explore the music making he enjoyed while playing sociably in others’ houses, as well as his role in the public concerts in the city.”
Tickets are available from Musicroom, Catherine Street, Salisbury, on the door or online at salisburybaroque.org.uk
