EX-DRIFTERS guitarist Freddy D’Albert takes to the stage with vintage rock and roll band Re-Issue in Woodgreen this weekend.
Freddy spent 22 years playing lead guitar and touring the world with the iconic American group The Drifters after they relocated from the US to England in the 1970s.
After he retired from touring, Freddy worked as a guitar teacher in London and on moving to Ringwood became a regular at the New Forest Jazz Workshop.
It was here that he met band leader, drummer and vocalist Alan House who was keen to get Re-Issue going.
The six-piece outfit, specialising in 1950s and 60s covers, started out in earnest in 2017 and have been in demand ever since.
The band’s gig on Saturday (August 18) will be their third outing at the Horse and Groom.
Pictured is Freddy D’Albert, lead guitar with, Mandy Alderson, vocals and drums; Alan House, band leader, drums and vocals; Scott Sinclair, keyboards; Ed Niziolek, bass; and Steve Connors, rhythm guitar and vocals.
