STOURHEAD has once again transformed into a magical wonderland for the festive season, with sparkling tunnels of light, a fire garden, more than 200 brightly coloured boats bobbing on the lake and more.

Brought to life by Culture Creative and Sony Music, this immersive experience invites visitors to bask in a light and sound spectacle that just, quite simply, takes your breath away.

Around every corner a larger-than-life, exciting visual fills the space, cleverly coupled with a soundtrack of seasonal music.

Taken on a colourful journey across the iconic National Trust grounds, a fitting backdrop, visitors will enjoy endless gardens flooded in light, neon trees and colour changing flora, all with different stories to tell.

In turn, these scenes of beauty and tranquility create a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

Each installation is simple yet mesmerising, complimented by the perfectly choreographed and upbeat soundscapes.

Just one of the new installations at the trail this year is ‘Two in the Hand’ by fine artist and designer Geraldine Pilgrim, where dozens of glowing birds sit in the branches of a tree, celebrating the simplicity of this jovial image.

My personal favourite, spotted during our visit on November 26, is a small and tucked away woodland adorned with magnificent yet rustic lightbulbs, and of course, the trail’s staple golden arch.

A trip to Stourhead is complete with a comforting hot drink and visit to Santa Claus, who is stationed ready and waiting at his grotto halfway along the trail.

Christmas at Stourhead runs until January 2, 2022.
