THIS year’s Christmas show from the Studio Theatre is Toad of Toad Hall and it certainly is a delightful show to enjoy in the lead up to Christmas.

The play has been adapted by Philip Goulding from The Wind in the Willows and follows the adventures and mishaps of the larger than life, Mr Toad, and his friends Ratty, Mole and Badger as they attempt to help him.

The stars of the show were the Wildwooders played by members of the Studio’s Youth Theatre. They had really embraced their animal characters and had worked hard on their mannerisms and twitches which really emulated their animal characters. Kit Weasel, played by Fraser Adams, was especially entertaining, keeping the energy of the Wildwooders high throughout.

There was certainly a pantomime feel about the production with music and singing, villains and dames. This light-hearted and fun play with a lesson about friendship will have the whole family smiling.

Toad of Toad Hall runs until Saturday 12 December at 7:30pm with a matinee on the Saturday at 2:30pm.

Tickets are available from the Salisbury Information Centre, Fish Row, on 01722 342860 at £10 and £8 (concessions).
