THE Stranglers are embarking on a full UK tour and heading to Salisbury.
The tour will see them showcase their Black & White album – both chronologically and in its entirety with additional material new and old.
Black & White was released in May 1978 and saw them break away from the punk formula of the previous year. It reached number 2 in the UK charts.
Musically, taking inspiration from influences as diverse as Devo and Captain Beefheart, the album was said to have pushed the boundaries of the band’s established sound and they experimented with quirky time signatures and synthesisers.
The Stranglers, plus special guests The Alarm, will be at Salisbury City Hall on Monday. Doors open 7pm. For tickets call 01722 434434
