SALISBURY Sinfonia open their new season with a concert in St Francis Church on Saturday, 7.30pm.
The performance starts with Weber’s Der
Freischutz Overture. The orchestra will then be joined by trombone soloist Jonny Goodwin. Both Jonny and the orchestra’s conductor for the evening, Sam Poppleton, started their musical careers after studying at Bishop Wordsworth’s School, so are excited to be making a return to their home city.
The performance will concludes with Schubert’s ‘Great’ Symphony No. 9.
Tickets available in advance (£12 adults, accompanied children free) from Salisbury Information Centre or on the door.
