THE Regal Cinema in Fordingbridge has curated an evening of films aiming to encourage discussion and raise awareness of mental health.

There will be screenings of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and Good Morning Vietnam on Friday. The evening is being held in association with mental health charity Solent Mind.

“Mental health affects us all, either directly or indirectly, yet it is still something people find difficult to talk about,” said Emma Goddard from The Regal Cinema. “We have chosen a couple of films that are excellent in their own right, but that also have strong connections to mental health issues. We hope it’ll encourage awareness and discussions around a subject that is often seen as a taboo, and that this leads to people feeling they can reach out to get the support they need.”
