SECRETS are unearthed in Murder, Margaret and Me.

The production takes centre stage at Salisbury Playhouse and tells the tale of the unlikely friendship between Agatha Christie and Margaret Rutherford, the actress who played Miss Marple in a series of 1960s films.

Sarah Parks plays Margaret Rutherford alongside Kate Brown as Agatha Christie and Tina Gray as Spinster.

Parks and Brown have a fantastic relationship on stage which helps bring the friendship between Christie and Rutherford to life on the stage. The interaction with Spinster, who is a symbol for Miss Marple, brings the characters closer together as well as providing a few laughs along the way.

There are some wonderful comedic lines especially from Parks as Margaret Rutherford that had me laughing throughout. The comedy element of the play was superbly balanced with plenty of suspense and intrigue as Agatha Christie turns super sleuth to uncover the secret from Margaret’s past - taking inspiration from a Miss Marple tale as you await the big reveal.

It was an entertaining evening of laughter, mystery, suspense and intrigue.

Murder Margaret and Me is at Salisbury Playhouse until February 24. Info: 01722 320333.
