HORATIO’S Garden, the national charity founded in Salisbury that creates and cares for beautiful accessible gardens in NHS spinal injury centres will hold its sixth annual Summer Weekend this June.

The events will be raising much-needed funds for maintaining and running the gardens.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, June 15 with Horatio’s Garden Annual Summer Drinks Party, a fun-filled evening gathering with jazz and canapes in the garden.

The drinks party, which is now a firm fixture in the Salisbury society diary, takes place from 6.30pm to 8.30pm and is open to anyone who would like to attend.

Tickets are available for £25 each or £10 for under 30s from Horatio’s Garden.

Then, on Sunday, June 17, the annual food and plant fair takes place from 11am to 3pm in the garden

Last year the free event attracted more than 1,400 visitors.

There will be a range of stalls selling food with Horatio’s Garden merchandise to purchase as well as local artisan food and plants.

Many of the plants have been grown in the garden and include some unusual plants chosen by celebrity garden designers and not seen in the average garden centre.

For the first time, this year the head gardeners and volunteers are creating edible hanging baskets that will include teas, pizzas and salads.

Horatio’s Garden Salisbury is located at Salisbury District Hospital.
