A COMMUNITY stalwart from Whiteparish, a retired colonel from Fovant and a Larkhill-based Olympian are among those to be honoured in the Queen's New Year Honours list.
Jane Legat receives a BEM for services to the community in Whiteparish, where she is a church warden.
She also edits the parish magazine Steeple and Street.
Col Richard Pinder also receives a BEM for services to the Fovant Badges Society.
He was project officer for the society for ten years and worked to restore and conserve the regimental badges, which were scheduled an ancient monument in 2001 thanks to his efforts.
Army captain Heather Stanning, who is based at Larkhill, has been made an MBE for winning the first gold of the Olympics with her teammate Helen Glover.
