CHILDREN in Tisbury have been putting their shovelling skills to work to help plant some Wiltshire apple trees in the village’s Jubilee Meadow on Friday.
The youngsters from St John’s Primary School lent a helping hand at the meadow, which has been given to the parish on a long lease from the Fonthill Estate and includes an orchard and an area for a community garden.
Developer CG Fry is to plant new hedges and a thicket chosen by Tisbury Natural History Society to encourage wildlife.
The Woodland Trust supplied a free tree pack which was planted by the community, led by the parish council chairman, Patrick Duffy.
