WILTON & District Band have qualified for the national brass band championship finals for the second year in a row.
The band will represent the west of England region and compete against bands from all over the UK at the Centaur Arena in Cheltenham on September 21.
At the regional championship in Torquay last month, they were awarded second place, the highest placing in the band’s history.
The result, which also means the band will be promoted to the third section, was the reward for a great deal of hard work and determination from the players under the guidance of musical director Colin Herbert.
They will now have a busy summer preparing for the national competition in September.
