LAST week I was planting seeds of a plan, and the irony is that the plan is actually about planting seeds.

Martin Luther King had a dream – his was far more noble than mine: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.”

Although on reading that paragraph perhaps I do have a noble dream after all. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed. We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all people are created equal.”

Aside from the noble dream of gender equality I have a dream to live a more sustainable life within which I am not dependent on the greedy fat cats of the energy companies, or indeed the dastardly disciplines of the supermarket infidels that are destroying British farming and filling our landfill with packaging quicker than Wall- E can say “Eva”, or the mass market manufacturers that are gradually poisoning us with secret sugar, hidden lard and surreptitious salt.

But gardening is not my business, so in order to live this utopian life it’s back to school for me.

Hugh Fearnley- Whittingstall would have us all believing that life is a bed of carrots but I am not certain it’s that easy.

Nigella Lawson will giftwrap us in urban chic while we whip up a perfect chocolate mousse laced with a smattering of pomegranate seeds and dollop of lemoncello cream.

Yet judging by the pilot of my TV show on my You Tube channel – AMMMTV pilot (youtube.com/user/amodmili tarymum) where I take a lemon drizzle cake and turn it into a lemon sludge cake, this idealised life that we see in lifestyle magazines isn’t quite as easy as it looks either.

Is it possible to be a domestic goddess and a social enterprise entrepreneur and raise two children to be fully functioning, financially selfsufficient well balanced individuals (my 10-year-old when recently questioned on his adult aspirations declared he wanted to be a werewolf when he grew up), not to mention having time to pedicure, manicure and not let my roots show?

When asked by a business adviser if there would “still be a lot of pink” in my new business venture I said a definite “yes”. To be honest it could even get pinker. Did I mention the Gl-arming? Yes, I am looking to bring some bling into digging and planting. Out with tweed and in with the magic and sparkle. Is Wiltshire ready?

Am I ready? Probably not.
