A COUPLE from Sherrington have taken part in a 100-mile cycle race from Surrey to London, raising money for the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust.

Charlie and Rosie Thomas joined thousands of fellow cyclists on the challenge and completed the course in 6hrs 40 minutes.

Mr Thomas said: “The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust is such a worthwhile project and we had heard of several people who have been helped by the charity so we wanted to do something challenging to help.”

So far the couple have raised £2,000 for the charity, which helps elderly, vulnerable and disadvantaged people who have been the victims of house crime in the county.

The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 took place on August 4.
