A 41-YEAR-OLD bottle of wine and a champagne supper at a local restaurant went for £1,000 at a charity auction.
Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce held the charity auction as part of a wine tasting evening at Crane’s Wine Bar in Salisbury to raise money for Wessex Heartbeat, which helps support the Wessex Cardiac Centre and improve cardiac care, and homelessness charity Morning Star Salisbury.
About 80 people attended and the evening raised £2,500 in total, but the biggest amount came from the auction.
Crane’s owner Andy Grigg donated a champagne dinner and head chef Liam Mason donated a bottle of 1972 Chateau Talbot.
