A CHILDREN’S charity has teamed up with a fire brigade to offer fun days out for sick children.

Lucy’s Days Out, which organises trips for children with serious illnesses and their families, is working with Stuart Cundick of Boscombe Down Fire Brigade to organise tours of the MoD site at Boscombe Down.

The first young man to try out the exciting experience was eight-year-old Luke Foweraker from Bournemouth.

A spokesman for the charity said: “Luke had a fantastic day getting up close to aircraft and helicopters."

Julie Page, who set up the charity  to fulfil the last wish of her 12-year-old daughter Lucy, who died in 2010, went along on the day with her son Charlie.
