THE Mencap charity shop in Salisbury has celebrated 30 years in the city, during which time every hour given by staff has been for free.
Everyone who works in the shop is a volunteer, and all the money raised is spent locally to give a better life to people with learning disabilities in south Wiltshire.
South Wilts Mencap chairman John Walsh said: βIt is not just the shop trustees we need to thank, but all the wonderful volunteers who have managed and staffed the shop throughout its 30-year history. They have made it a very special place, where Salisbury people can get a real bargain, knowing that every penny goes to support vulnerable local people.β
