A NEW village hall in Tilshead was officially opened on Wednesday.
Villagers were joined by local councillors and those who helped to fund the hall at the opening and were given a chance to see the results of the refurbishments.
A £15,000 grant from the Hills Group funded the project to strip back all the walls of the building to the original bare bricks, reinstall all the cabling, plaster the walls, replace skirting boards, put down heavy duty vinyl floor covering and damp-proof the whole building.
The funding was made available through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF), which is administered for Hills by Community First, the Rural Community Council for Wiltshire.
Further funds were secured from previous community fundraising and an area board grant to refurbish the kitchen and toilet facilities.
