POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Ssalisbury.
The incident happened at about 4.40pm on Friday, January 3 when a 19-year-old woman was walking along Crane Street near Queen Elizabeth Gardens.
She was approached by a man who demanded she hand over money.
The woman refused and he tried to grab her handbag but she resisted and was able to get away unharmed, with her bag. The offender is thought to have run off towards Harham over the Town Path.
The man is described as white, in his late twenties, of average build and approximately 5ft 9ins tall. He appeared unkempt and was wearing a black top with a hood, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms and dark gloves.
