VERWOOD’S Emmanuel Middle School held their most successful cake sale ever in aid of bereaved children’s charity Mosaic.
Emotional literacy support assistant Wendy Kirby and pupils Elizabeth Wilson and Elise McNally organised the event.
The cake sale was so busy that break time had to be extended for 10 minutes so that all the cakes could be sold.
There were so many cakes donated that stalls had to be set up at the back of the dining room and in staff room in order to sell them all.
Mrs Kirby said: “The girls have both been supported by Mosaic and wanted to give something back as a thank you.”
The total raised was an amazing £383 and Margaret Hannibal, director of operations from Mosaic, came to collect the cheque.
Mosaic is a Dorset wide charity offering a pathway of support to bereaved children, young people and their families.
They also work with young people who are facing the death of a loved one.
Mosaic provides individual, family and group support to those in need.
Every child they support has the opportunity to attend their residential weekend programme where they can meet others and share their experiences with people who understand.
