THE eye clinic at Salisbury District Hospital has doubled in size. New clinic rooms have been added, with equipment networked to the main clinics.
The additional clinic area will be largely used for the management and treatment of glaucoma and retinal diseases, and it will run in tandem with the main and emergency clinics.
The ophthalmology department is expanding to have six consultants and will be developing extensive facilities in Warminster, Shaftesbury and Ringwood in order to provide more eye care within local communities.
The new expanded clinic was opened by Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust chairman Nick Marsden, with consultant ophthalmologist Roger Humphry and patient Marien Gillion.
