OUR annual meeting was held in March.
Shaula Crabtree was re-elected as president, the new committee was confirmed and last year's finances were approved.
This was followed in April by our resolutions meeting when the topic discussed was: “Three people die every day while waiting for an organ transplant.
“We call on every member of the WI to make their wishes regarding organ donation known, and to encourage their families and friends, and members of their local communities to do likewise.”
We then voted as to whether to approve the motion and for it to be taken to the WI Annual Conference later in the year.
The vote was 21 people in favour and 14 people against.
There were six abstentions from the proceedings.
After all this serious business we enjoyed a delicious fish and chip supper.
We look forward to our next meeting when Mrs L Warren will be speaking about A Funny Way to Make a Living.
The meeting will be held at Antrobus House on May 8 at 7.30pm.
