BAKERS and cake lovers in Salisbury helped raise a huge £2,247 for Help for Heroes on Saturday.
The charity held a Colossal Cake Sale in the Old George Mall and asked local people to contribute homemade cakes and biscuits, jams, chutneys and savouries.
Salisbury resident Claire McHenry teamed up with staff from Help for Heroes’ headquarters in Downton to organise the event.
She said: “The Colossal Cake Sale is a great way to get the community together to raise money for a cause that is very close to our hearts, with Salisbury’s close links to the armed forces.”
