STOURHEAD is to host a walk of remembrance to mark the anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.
The There were Our Own/There Were the Others walk has been conceived by the artist Alec Finlay as a contemporary act of remembrance for all those affected by conflict in the last 100 years.
Stourhead’s commemorative walk will remember Harry Hoare, who was heir to the estate, near Mere, as well as the nine others from Stourton with Gasper parish who died during the 1914-18 conflict.
The walk will take place on June 24 at 2pm.
